Joanne Rupert is the Founder and Operational Leader of Emergency Responder Trauma Counselors. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. In addition, Joanne is a Level 1 Mediator.  She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and has advanced training in EMDR Post Traumatic Stress and Addictions. She has 30+ years of experience in emergency response working as a professional and volunteer for ambulance, fire, and law enforcement. She is currently in a private practice for Emergency Responder Trauma Counselors and contracted as the Clinical Supervisor for the Poudre Fire Authority, Wellington Fire Protection District, Front Range Fire Rescue Authority, Berthoud Fire Protection District, Eaton Fire Protection District and City of Fort Collins Rangers; overseeing their Peer Support Teams. Joanne is a skilled Facilitator for Critical Incident Debriefings and Diffusing’s for Emergency Service Providers throughout Northern Colorado. In addition, Joanne teaches a 4-day, 40-hr, Peer Support Certification Academy in Colorado for Fire and Emergency Service departments and is the Clinical Supervisor for the Regional Peer Support Team.

Joanne works primarily with First Responders, Veterans, Correctional Facility Staff, Active Military, and their Families. Her specialty areas include but are not limited to: Trauma/Abuse, Neglect, Addictions, Alcohol/Substance Abuse, Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, Grief/Loss Mourning, Marriage/Relationship issues, Mood Disorders, OCD, Phobias, PTSD, Sexual Abuse, Stress Management and Couples Counseling.
