A full-time Firefighter with Denver Fire Department, Kelli is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She has a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. Kelli plays a major role in Denver’s Peer Support Team and founded a support group for the spouses of DFD members called, The Better Halves of DFD. Kelli is also the co-Clinical Director of the North Area Peer Support Team which includes 12 fire departments and ambulance companies that serve the North Area of Colorado. She is a co-founder of Building Warriors, which provides training throughout the state, and has a private practice in Lakewood, CO.

Kelli is also a full time mother, step-mother and wife, married to Jeff Gilchrist, a DFD Lieutenant. Kelli “grew up in the firehouse,” as the daughter of a retired truck Captain of 37 years. She takes a practical and eclectic approach to help find clear solutions, and hopefully a sense of calm. Peace of mind, body and heart can be so difficult with the work that we do. She understands the difficulties of the job, the importance of confidentiality, and how this work can affect our children and family. Kelli is also trained in EMDR Therapy and has had great success with emergency responders and their families.
