While working as a county caseworker in the foothills of Colorado, Alison realized what a dearth of services existed for the families with whom she worked. It was at that time, that she decided to obtain her Master of Science degree in Counseling in order to be able to provide therapeutic services to those who need it most. For her internship and one year post degree work, she provided individual, family and couples counseling at the Mountain Resource Center. It was here that she made a significant connection within the veteran community and have been able to treat numerous vets and their family members. Because her approach is trauma focused, she works best with veterans who are looking to work on developing successful re-integration skills as well as addressing post-traumatic stress related symptoms.
